A date with the doppler

By Next in line

Ah…there is nothing like it. The reassurance of listening to the heartbeat. Everything is ticketyboo so far.

Next week we have another ultrasound. It won’t be at the fancy shmancy private fertility clinic so it might not be as fun. This is no zen cocktail lounge with free bottles of water and happy smiling staff. At the public lab they won’t give us results while we are there and I am not even sure when, and if,  F will be allowed in the room.  We will have to wait until the lab writes up a report and sends it to the midwife clinic. My midwife says that if there is anything wrong they page the their clinic right away so no news is good news. It will all work out in the end.  Overall,  I am very grateful to be back in the public health care system that we have in Canada and no longer paying thousands for fertility treatments.

Does anyone know what happens with a belly button piercing during pregnancy. Do I have to take it out? I squealed like a pig when I got it done and don’t want to have to do that again.

i dont know what happens to a current belly button ring, but i have a scar from mine years ago that is now VERY stretched apart (the in/out holes have been stretched apart, i mean). im guessing the ring will have to go as your belly gets bigger and bigger.

good luck at your upcoming appointment. we have one this friday and i cant wait to hear that reassuring heartbeat sound!

They make pregnancy belly button piercings. I can’t remember where I’ve seen them though. Try apeainthepod. Good luck with the ultrasound next week!

I kept my belly button ring in through my whole pregnancy with no problems. But of course I had a little extra padding and not a too stretched tight belly. I think it just depends on the person…

I was wondering the same thing with my belly ring. I hate to say goodbye to it, but I am not getting it redone. No way! I hope you are able to keep it in.
    Good luck with the appointment!

I took my piercing out before we got pregnant, but I can tell you that I am still able to put a hoop in it, and it’s been about a year. :)

We’re going through shmancy-withdrawal ourselves… Hang in there! Doppler is the best sound EVER. :)
