No news!

By Next in line

No news is good news. I had the ultrasound yesterday at 7:30am. Yup that means I got up at six to start chugging back water. My tummy was so full of water that there was no room for breakfast. Then my bladder was so full it hurt to walk.  For most of the ultrasound I just lay there and concentrated on not peeing my pants. The screen was hidden and F had to wait outside. The best part of the whole experience was when the ultrasound tech let me go to the bathroom half way through the appointment. What a relief. Apparently they only need a full bladder for the first part. Right at the end they let us look at a few pictures. Yay! That almost as much fun as finally getting to go pee.

After the appointment, I waited two days to see if anyone would call.  No calls from my clinic or there’s. No news means nothing to worry about and my midwives will get a report in about a week.

Speaking of no news….it looks like we have a leg crosser. This baby is going to be a surprise and keep it’s private bits to itself. There is always a chance the lab tech didn’t want to tell us and the full report will have a little more info, but I am secretly hoping for a surprise. F really wants to know and so if we can find out we will, but until then I like the thought that I am just having a baby. None of that girl/boy business. Besides being a fun surprise, it also offers great protection from the world of pink and blue baby things.

I would agree about the gender. . . but the yellow and green stuff is so boring!!
Glad your u/s went well otherwise. I hate the full bladder part.

Glad that all went well but…. a week? You have to wait a week! I could NOT take it. Of course, if you can wait until to delivery to find out the gender then you have more patience than I do already.

The full bladder thing also sounds like agony. I could totally imagine you lying there on the table thinking desperately about NOT making a puddle. Which makes me wonder: has that ever happened at the dr’s office? Surely some pg woman has not been able to take the pushing and waiting

In any case, I am glad that all is well!

Glad everything went so well! You’re very patient to wait a week! :)

Oh, more waiting!! It never stops. I’m glad things are going along so well. We are not going to find out the gender. I think it’s one of life’s last true surprises. Plus, I don’t want ppl to get carried away with the pink and blue defining colors. It’s a baby. It doesn’t care what color you dress it in!

not being able to see the ultrasound screen would have been torture! and waiting a week for the results – argh! you have amazing patience! did they let you take any of the pictures home at the end?

I think I would’ve strangled the u/s tech had s/he not let us see the screen. BUT, I’m glad everything looked good even though the little bugger won’t show you the goods ;-) I agree that the blue/pink divide sucks (although you won’t be able to escape it as much once your baby is here). But there are so many cool gender neutral things out there that aren’t just green and yellow….polka dots, stripes, animals, orange, rainbow, etc. I love looking for that stuff :)

You are a very, very patient person.

Seriously, why DO they have to make everything pink or blue. Ever heard of orange, green, yellow and grey designers? And how come when you do see something really cute from the back, does it have to have monster trucks or flowers all over the front!?! Ok, enough of that rant.

    Glad there was no news!

I am really happy that your little leg crosser looks good. We did not want to find out to avoid the pink and the trucks… we have succeded to an extent.

Yay, I’m glad everything’s looking good. I’d love to not find out the gender but I don’t think I could do it – mostly because I couldn’t stand for the tech and docs etc to be able to tell so a leg crosser sounds good to me lol
